VISUAL TESTING (VT) LEVEL II (CODE: AS208)

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Visual testing level II course provides the knowledge required to understand the method and performing inspection. Our course structure is compiled based on the recommendations of ASNT’s document SNT-TC-1A. Detailed class-work and proven “hands-on” exercises gives the student a thorough understanding of the theories and concepts.

 

BRIEF TOPICS (some topics may not be applicable or limited for Level 1 personnel)
  • Visual testing – Introduction, terminology and purpose

  • Physical principles and associated knowledge

  • Introduction to equipment and Calibration

  • Product knowledge and related capability of the method and derivate techniques 

  • Codes / standards requirements as per as per BSEN, ASTM / ASME & AWS etc.

  • Perform testing on products

  • Interpreting and evaluating the test data

  • Preparation of the reports

 

COURSE DURATION
  • 24 hours of training & examination (Theory, Specific and Practical). 40% class-room training with power point presentation, lecture and Q&A.

  • 60% hands-on practical on A-Star engineered weld flaw samples.

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Engineers, inspectors and technicians aspiring to acquire the proficiency and knowledge in visual  testing. This course provides access to employer based qualification and certification.

 

CERTIFICATION

NDT VT level II certificate will be provided leading to a higher level of competence on successful completion of General, Specific and Practical examinations with an aggregate of 80%.

COURSE EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS

We provide training materials, VT equipment’s and sample specimens.

 

CLASS CAPACITY

Not more than 10 participants per each batch.
